Aging is a natural and normal process that can take some getting used to, but should never be a struggle.
Some statistics on aging are,
- 43.1 million – The number of seniors who were age 65 and older in the United States on July 1, 2012, comprised 13.7% of the total population in 2004.
- 86.7 million – Projected number of people who will be 65 or older in the year 2050.
- 142% – The projected percentage that the 65+ senior population will increase between 2000 and 2050.
- There are 72 men for every 100 women in the age group ‘above 65 years’ and there are 45 men per 100 women in the age group ‘above 85 years.’
- 9.1 million – Estimated number of seniors age 65 and older who are military veterans.
- In the United States on 1st Nov 2005 there were an estimated 67,473 centenarians (people aged 100 or older).
